The BYU University Band is conducted by Fred McInnis. Due to immense popularity, two ensembles were recently organized to accommodate students interested in performing in this venue. This two non-auditioned bands provide an opportunity for many students across campus to continue performing concert literature in an evening class. These large groups (typically 100+ members in each ensemble) only meet during winter semester, after the marching season has finished, and also presents an outstanding opportunity for music education majors to perform on secondary instruments. Rehearsals are held each Tuesday evening during the winter semester, from 7–9 p.m.
