The BYU Color Guard is a group of approximately 25 girls that have experience and training with flags, rifles, and other visual effect equipment. They come from all across the United States. Through hard work and dedication, they increase and refine their spinning and dance abilities to put together crowd pleasing performances. They perform as a part of the Cougar Marching Band and help to promote spirit and excitement at the BYU football games.
The BYU Color Guard begins the week before school begins with an intensive week long camp. At this camp the members learn the first routines and shows of the year. Rehearsals continue throughout the fall semester Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:00pm – 6:00pm.
The group performs at all home football games as well as other spirit promoting events and parades. The represent the university at many events and provide and opportunity for others to feel the spirit of BYU.
