Consisting of approximately 75 performers, the Symphonic Band is devoted to the performance of the finest band masterpieces from a variety of historic periods, new music for wind ensembles, and compositions from our faculty and student composers. The Symphonic Band fosters the highest performance standards while offering its members an opportunity to expand their artistic, technical, and performance horizons. The ensemble performs two concerts each semester in the de Jong Concert Hall.
Although a majority of the ensemble members are music majors, Symphonic Band auditions are open to all BYU students and offers unequaled opportunities for continued music performance and growth. Membership in the Symphonic Band is determined by audition in the fall of each academic year.
